No Makeup Monday!

I think we have all got to the point where you are sitting at your mirror on a wet and cold day, and just as you are about to apply the war paint you just think no. Well I didn't just think it... oops.

Last week I made the brave move to go into work for the first time with no make up on. Now I have a few spots on my face, and some discolouration under my eyes but nothing too much that I feel I need make up (I just prefer a flawless complexion). However I aways have at least concealer and mascara on.

As I got to work I started to regret my decision, I was full of dread and for some reason nervous. All I could think of was why didn't I let myself bring my make up bag! But after getting through the door and to my desk I had nearly forgotten about it all.

Now realistically I don't think many people really noticed. And if they did, they were very polite and didn't say anything. At lunch one lady asked if I was feeling well, as I looked a little off colour. Now I think I can probably put that down to the lack of make up, but for me it didn't seem so much of a big deal.

I did notice a difference with my skin though. As I have oily skin I usually use a primer, and a face powder after my foundation. As I only had moisturiser on, there wasn't anything on my skin all day to soak up any excess oil, which i didn't like. I felt my skin looked like it was really shiny!

Over all I think that I could do it again, maybe in the summer when i can hide my eyes with big sunglasses! But yes, my no make up Monday was a kind of success :D

How would you cope with a no makeup Monday? let me know in the comments :D

Think Shimmer...

Here is a going out look that's perfect for a nice weekend evening out! I think its a pretty girly look but could easily go for a night out clubbing with the darker eye and highlight that has a nice shimmer.
This is my sister Hannah!

I have used some products that I haven't used before so im really just testing some things out.     The blusher is something that I have recently bought from the new make up collection by 'Look'. This is a new brand by Look magazine. Its a real feel good brand as it donates a percentage of all the sales to a charity, so I didn't hesitate to purchase something! I have recently read that their lipsticks are good so I think that's what im going for next time.

Hannah doesn't usually wear too much make up, especially on her eyes, so i decided to take full advantage of her letting me do her face and went all out. I used my Urban Decay Naked 2 pallet and mixed a few different colours to create this look. The colours I used were: Booty Call, Chopper, YDK and Busted.

The products that I used are:

  • Rimmel Fix and Perfect Pro - 002
  • Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation - 100 Ivory
  • Natural Collection Pressed Powder - Warm
  • MUA Pro-Base Conceal and brighten - Beige
  • Natural Collection Cover Up Cream - Warm
  • Look Make me Blush - Pinch Shade 3
  • Benefit High Beam -
  • MUA Bronzed Perfection -
  • Urban Decay Naked 2 - Booty Call,                                                                                                      Chopper, YDK, Busted
  • MUA Lipstick - shade 4
  • BarryM Lipstick - shade 100 226
  • Doir Show Mascara

Here is the finished look, let me know what you think!

My very first glossy box!

So after deciding to order some sort of beauty tester delivery box I had a look on google and found a few. The one I really wanted was from 'she said beauty' but they have discontinued the one they have. So I went for a Glossy box. I'm not really into high end products, I only have a few as I really think you can find good duplicates out there in the drugstore, so I was hoping that i would find somthing from this box that would be really worth the amount of money without having to spend a fortune on testing things.
My box arrived yesterday and I can't deny that the packaging was really lovely. A pretty little cardboard box with another pink box with black shredded paper inside.
My 5 tester products were nice, I wouldn't say I was too impressed.
I know that they were tester size products but they really do exaggerate the size on the website. I think to get a full use of the product and to give it a fair chance I need a bit more of it. Especially when all of the products are quite expensive I don't think that I'm going to run out and but them after the one use I have got out of it from my tester.
The products I got are all from the 'detox box'. They are all face products. I have very thick hair that I can find quite hard to manage at times, so I was hoping there would be somthing for my hair inside.
I have a sanctuary face mask, an exfoliant, an eye cream, a finishing powder (detox box?) and a perfume.
I haven't had a good chance to use them all so I'm not going to give my opinion on them just yet, but I'm really hoping that I will be able to find somthing that is worth the money!
